155th ride of 2020 - Tuesday, 11/24/2020

 2020 mileage: 3908.6

In recent days, I've been battling the cold and snow we've experienced, plus combatting an inexplicable exhaustion, and so had not ridden since Friday. Going early today in order to beat the precipitation forecast for this afternoon, I had considered doing my 30-plus mile round trip to Matthei Botanical Gardens. However, as I rode the early miles of my ride, it seemed to me that, given the layoff, it might be prudent to break back in more gradually. Another factor contributing to my decision was certainly the still-nippy temperature—25° when I started at 8:45. (Though it did heat all the way up to 35° by the time I finished.)

A few weeks ago I ordered some chemical hand and foot warmers from Amazon that were recommended to me by my friend Jim Alvey. However, the supplier must be having issues of some kind, as they remain on back order.

With my shortened plans, I ended up riding the Platt/Packard Square (13.7 miles) in 1:44. And I'm delighted now to be home and warming up!
