1st ride of 2020 - Monday, 1/6/2020
2020 mileage:88.0
We have had a challenging beginning to the year, with my 96-year-old mother having died on Friday. That, combined with the weather, has kept me from riding outside so far this year. (Though I've been able to build a small base of mileage by working outside on the stationary cycle at LA Fitness.)
Here is a picture of me, my brother John, and my sister Marianne, with Mom at our family celebration of Christmas on December 26.
At any rate, I was grateful that bright sunshine today, combined with an unseasonably 'warm' January day (40° when I began just before 1;00, and 42° when I finished) allowed me to get out there today. I rode the Packard/Platt Square (in a clockwise direction), and this picture, on the trail headed west toward Marsh Park from Platt Rd. on the east, shows what nice conditions I enjoyed (despite having to battle an 18 mph wind from the west).
